Lakehead Places Fourth at Championship Cup

The Clan Outgrapple the Dinos in an All Canada-West Championship Final

Simon Fraser University claimed the inaugural Women’s Championship Cup of Wrestling Tournament held in Thunder Bay, Ontario over the weekend with a decisive 22-6 victory over the University of Calgary. Both The Clan and the Dinos qualified for the Championship Final Match by posting perfect 4-0 records in their respective pools.

The host Lakehead Thunderwolves did very well, placing fourth. Lakehead made it to the 3rd place match to face a very strong team from Cumberland College in Kentucky, but Lakehead was beaten handily by the Patriots 26-2. Saskatchewan took fifth place with a close 16-12 decision over Brock. Western defeated McMaster in the 7th place match while Memorial beat Alberta for 9th place.
