Patroch Golden Again
The Lakehead Thunderwolves wrestling team enjoyed more success Saturday at the at the University of Alberta Open meet. The second day of wrestling was an Open meet; meaning it was open to varsity, club, and senior level wrestlers and yet the Thunderwolves came through with impressive results.
On the women’s side; Katie Patroch took her second gold medal of the weekend, winning all three of her matches while Tasha Eady captured a bronze medal with a 2-2 record and Leah Dougherty placed fifth.
The men’s team was equally impressive. Dave Rector captured his second gold medal of the weekend with a 4- 0 record, while Chris Camarata lost a hard fought semi-final match and rebounded back to place third. Clayton Serreres placed fith and Andrew Rector did not place.
Both Rector and Patroch also won golds at the Golden Bear Varsity meet held Friday and Rector went 8-0 on the weekend and Patroch was 7-0.
