Wolves Take Four Medals

The Lakehead Thunderwolves scored four medals at the CIS national wrestling championships Saturday hosted by Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. 

On the men’s side; Chris Camarata led the way with a silver medal in the 57 kg class; losing the gold to Raj Virdi of Simon Fraser.  Dave Rector took the bronze medal at 90 kg; defeating Tim Kent of Saskatchewan 2-0.  On the women’s side, Tasha Eady took bronze at 63 kg; defeating Gillian Mcallum of Western 2-0.  Katie Patroch took Bronze at 59 kg; defeating Ellen Macro of McMaster 2-0. 

Emily McCague took fourth at women’s 72 kg, Andrew Elliot was fourth at men’s 76 kg, Michelle Gorrie was fifth at women’s 48 kg, Clayton Serreres was sixth at men’s 61 kg, Mitch Fryia was sixth at men’s 65 kg, Leah Daugherty was sixth at women’s 67 kg, and Darren Manion was seventh at men’s 130 kg. 

Michelle Gorrie was honoured to be named the winner of the Bob Pugh Fair Play Award.
