Wolves Brock Open Preview

Lakehead men’s and women’s varsity wrestling teams return to action this coming weekend when they travel to St. Catharine’s, Ontario to compete in the Brock Open wrestling meet.   The Wolves will be sending 13 wrestlers; including some strong new recruits to the teams.
 
The men’s varsity wrestling team is also very pleased to welcome Gaston Tardiff from Calgary, Alberta to their varsity roster for the second half of the season.  Gaston will be filling the empty spot at 54kg.  Tardif is a former Alberta high school Champion and is also a former national medalist. 
 
The women’s varsity team is also proud to welcome the addition of Meaghan Young from Fort McMurray, Alberta to the squad for the second half.  Meaghan is a former Alberta high school champion, Canada Summer games champion, as well as a former age group national medalist. 
 
Also returning to varsity action is a last year’s OUA Champion and OUA MVP,  Andrew Elliot.  Andrew has been injured for most of the first half of the varsity season.   On the women’s side Jessica Fortin formally of St. Ignatius high school is also making her first varsity wrestling tournament appearance.
