January 23rd, 2007

This weekend the Lakehead Thunderwolves men's and women's wrestling teams will be sending many of its younger wrestlers to Toronto and Kingston to take part in two top meets.
Saturday, the young Wolves will take part in the Ontario Junior Provincial Championships in Toronto and Sunday they will travel to Kingston for the annual Queen’s Open. Head Coach Owen Dawkins has decided to combine the two meets for his younger wrestlers so they can gain more experience as the OUA championships approach.
The Junior provincial championships is for athletes age 18-20 while the Queen’s Open is for all varsity wrestlers. Coach Dawkins will also bring two senior wrestlers along for the Queen’s Open.
The men’s squad should be a force at both meets while Lakehead fans can look to freshman Nicole Plummer to continue her stellar form at both meets and Tasha Eady to perform well at the Queen’s Open.
