Wolves Medal at Western Open
February 3rd, 2007

The Lakehead Thunderwolves wrestling team had some tough battles at the Western Open Saturday in London, Ontario but the small squad of 11 wrestlers still came away with four medals.
On the women’s side; Emily McCague had the best result with a silver in the 67 kg weight class. Freshman star Nicole Plummer’s streak of four gold medals came to an end as she had to settle for bronze in the 82 kg class. Plummer again lost to a US wrestler in London; the same wrestler she lost to at the McMaster Open. Tasha Eady also took bronze at 63 kg.
On the men’s side; defending OUA Champion Andrew Elliot took silver at 54 kg. Drew St. Louis was fifth and Gaston Tardiff fourth.
