This weekend the Lakehead Thunderwolves men's and women's wrestling teams will be sending athletes to the Ontario Junior Provincial Championships in Orillia on Saturday and the University of Toronto Open Meet on Sunday. 

The Junior Provincials are for wrestlers who are of junior age (19-20) while the Toronto meet is an open meet for varsity and senior wrestlers.  

Lakehead Head Coach Owen Dawkins said that the Junior championships are a good litmus test for his young wrestlers.  “The Ontario Junior Championships will give some of our first and second year athlete a chance to compete against other wrestlers from across Ontario who are in the same age range as they are and get a feeling of where they stand against their wrestling peers.”
