CIS Nationals Day 1 Report

The Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s and women’s wrestling teams battled hard at the CIS National Championships in Calgary, Alberta on Friday; hosted by the University of Calgary. 
After Day 1; the Lakehead men are in a tight battle for first place with Brock and SFU.  Results after first day of competition see the three teams within 10 points of each other.
 
Saturday, Lakehead will have two men (Huy Nguyen and Mitch Fryia) and one woman (Nicole Plummer) wrestle for national gold while Colten Woznow and Jessica Bershatskey will wrestle for bronzes. 
 
The bronze medal and championship matches will be video webcast LIVE on Saturday, March 1. The live webcasts will be available through the University of Calgary campus TV station’s website at www.nutv.ca/streaming.
