The Thunderwolves wrestling team placed 7th out of 40 clubs represented at the Canadian Junior National Championships. Clayton Sereres and Dave Rector led the Thunderwolves by both placing second; Sereres in the 55kg class and Rector in the 96 kg category. Andrew Larson, Mark Crockett, and Chris Camarata all placed in the top 10 in their weight classes. On the womens’ side, emily McCague placed 6th in the tough 72 kilogram class while Lisa Lamour placed 10th.

Camarata also had a strong showing; losing to the gold medal winner and then to the bronze medal winner. The loss to the bronze medal winner was a match in which he first won but was protested with the protest finding errors in one of the calls. The scoring adjustments made it tie, this brought the two wrestlers back on the mat to finish the overtime. This match went 4 minutes into the overtime before Camarata lost a single point ending the sudden death overtime.

The results are very encouraging for the Thunderwolves, and are a indicator of good things to come next season.
