The Lakehead Thunderwolves women's wrestling team is travelling to Jamestown, North Dakota for a special duals meet against the Jamestown College Jimmies of the NAIA.

Lakehead Head Coach Owen Dawkins expects the meet will be a great test for his squad but believes that the Wolves can come out on top.

Jamestown is a very strong NAIA squad led by Tiffany Sluik of who took silver at the University of Calgary Invite Meet.  The Jimmies had another three other wrestlers place in the Top 5 in their weights at Calgary.  The Jimmies are also coming off a 24-16 duals meet win over the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon two weeks ago.

The Wolves will be led by Pan Am Junior champion, CIS silver medalist, and OUA champion and Lakehead team captain Nicole Plummer; who has taken a silver so far this year at the McMaster Open Meet.

Other Wolves to watch are Emma Brightwell who took gold at the MAC Open and Laurel Knowles who took bronze at the same meet and was OUA silver medalist last year.  Last year’s OUA silver medalist Leah Dougherty and OUA bronze medalist Jessica Berhsatsky are also strong competitors for Lakehead.
