‘Wolves add Charlebois and White to Coaching Staff
Lakehead athletics department is pleased to announce the addition of Pat Charlebois and Zach White to the men’s basketball coaching staff for the upcoming season. Both men once suited up for Lakehead as players and now will don suits on the bench as assistant coaches.
Charlebois was a member of the Lakehead University Nor’Westors from 1983 to 1985 before completing his studies and playing with the University of Ottawa Gee Gees in 1986-87. Pat has recently been heavily involved with the Thunder Bay Blaze club basketball program and is a partner with LCPS Chartered Accountants. “I'm very appreciative of the opportunity to help Coach Morrison and the rest of his coaching staff and am especially looking forward to working with the players. Coach Morrison has assembled an excellent group of hard working young men who showed last year that LU has one of the best basketball programs in the CIS. I'm hoping to contribute whatever I can to help them achieve even greater things this year. “
White is a recent graduate of Lakehead (2010) and member of the Thunderwolves basketball program from 2006-2009. He played a consistent role with the team while being named an Academic All-Canadian three times. Originally from Prince Edward Island, Zach recently took a job with Genevar in Thunder Bay and was keen to get involved with the team: “I am extremely excited to be joining the ‘Wolves coaching staff this season. As a former player, I look forward to being involved in the game from the coaching perspective. ”
Head Coach Scott Morrison is happy to welcome them to the bench. “We couldn’t be happier to welcome Coach Charlebois and Coach White to the team. Adding a community leader like Pat and an up and coming young professional like Zach will not only help us from a teaching perspective but also provide two excellent examples for our players.”
Charlebois and White join lead assistant Matt Erdman who returns for his 6th season on the bench. For more information please visit the men’s basketball blog at http://lakeheadbasketball.blogspot.com .
