Wolves Third at Brock Open
Lakehead’s varsity wrestling teams shone at the Brock Open on Saturday. The CIS No. 3 men’s team claimed the team championship while the No. 9 women’s team took team bronze.
The men’s team claimed the championships by defeating Niagara Community College and winning 8 out of 10 matches in the final. To get to the finals, Lakehead defeated No. 9 Guelph, Toronto, Queen’s, and No. 1 Brock by points. Steve Raine, Chris Camarata, Trevor Manchester, and Mitch Fryia were perfect on the day, winning all their bouts.
The women’s team defeated McMaster, Queen’s, and No. 7 Guelph, but lost to No. 3 Brock 4-3.
